Therapeutic value of liver and pancreatic-targeted IL-22 in metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) highlighted in this paper from the lab which is supported by Jetra Therapeutics, GESA and NHMRC

Our new paper in Nature Communications shows that IL-22RA1 (IL-22 receptor) endogenously in pancreatic beta-cells regulates insulin secretion, islet regeneration, inflammation/cellular stress and appropriate systemic metabolic regulation.

So excited to see this work out a collaborative effort with the Mark Schembri’s lab at The Institute of Molecular Biosciences at The University of Queensland.

Commentary on our work that shows for the first time a direct anti-inflammatory role for Interleukin-22.
